'Echoes of Absence' - Art Exhibition Successfully Held in Naples, ItalyOn October 22, "Echoes of Absence" ¡ªa special exhibition blending contemporary Chinese art and Eastern music, jointly curated by the A4U Art and Cultural Exchange Association and AD Art, with technical organization by Alma Idrizi¡ªcame to a successful close at the Casoria Museum of Contemporary Art (CAM).
On October 17, on a night where music and light interwove, the Casoria Museum of Contemporary Art (CAM) hosted a special exhibition blending Chinese contemporary art with Eastern music. This event brought together four Chinese artists, who, through their distinctive visual languages, explored the relationship between "absence" and "echo," collectively presenting the Eastern essence and contemporary reflections within contemporary art, thereby showcasing the multifaceted dimensions of contemporary Eastern art.
🖼 Exhibition Review
The exhibition has specially invited Professor Wu Junru, Chinese Dean of the Confucius Institute at the University of Naples, Mr.Erio De Rosa, Director of the Municipal Museum of Naples, and Mr.Antonio Manfredi, Director of the Casoria Museum of Contemporary Art, to attend the event. Professor Wu Junru currently serves as the Chinese Dean of the Confucius Institute at the University of Naples "Dongfang," where she has long been dedicated to language and cultural teaching and exchange between China and Italy, making significant contributions to fostering artistic and educational cooperation between the two countries. Mr.Erio De Rosa, as the director of the Donneragina Museum, possesses extensive experience in the fields of contemporary Italian art and cultural heritage preservation; his curatorial work emphasizes the dialogue between historical and contemporary art. Antonio Manfredi, director of the Casoria Museum of Contemporary Art, stated: "We share a special connection with China. CAM has exhibited works by numerous contemporary Eastern artists, and even before they gained recognition in the art market, we began to pay attention to them¡ªthis embodies CAM's avant-garde spirit."
🎶 The Resonance Between Music and Culture On the day of the exhibition, CAM's EXIT Concept Bar hosted a concert themed "Oriental Night." Integrating African rhythms with traditional Chinese percussion, the performance opens a dialogue between color and sound through the guzheng; Eastern melodies intertwine with electronic music under the night sky, creating a sensory and cultural resonance.
During the exhibition, three creative painting workshops titled "Painting the Orient" were also held, where visitors actively participated in the creation process under the guidance of artists, using color to express the resonance within their hearts and experience the power and warmth of a dialogue with art.
🌸 Gallery of Artists' Works Luo Xiaohan's creative practice often begins at a micro level, using a single point to evoke a broader context. To her, silence is not a void, but rather a space brimming with tension. Through video, objects, and photography, her works transform "absence" into a tangible poetic experience. The Chinese artist Tremoring Steel, living in London, explores the tension between "presence and absence" through photography. His lens captures not staged figures, but rather the energy and emotions suspended within time¡ªa visual meditation, and also a contemplation of human fragility and fluidity. Zhao Yuchu transforms emotion and memory into abstract colors, embarking on an inner journey within the folds of these hues. His paintings exude a sense of fluidity, oscillating between narrative and imagery, and reveal a delicate fusion of materiality and perception. Chai Han's work is a fusion of popular culture and traditional totems; like an archaeological endeavor, it explores a forgotten youth culture known as "Shamate" ¡ªa group of young migrant workers who, through their hairstyles, QQ avatars, and a form of "Mars language," make themselves visible within an invisible realm. As an artist, she is erecting a silent monument for a civilization that has never been permitted to exist.
